My biggest challenge since starting a business?
My biggest challenge since starting a business? It's not the tech or the sales. It's finding 30 minutes a day to read.
Gone are the days where I was blocking time just so that if people looked at my Calendly they wouldn't think "You don't really have a lot of customers, do you?"
Things like sitting down to actually read a book and just stay broadly up-to-speed are easy to shove aside because of the constant need to do "stuff". It's easy to feel like I'm getting things done without actually moving forward.
I have to constantly remind myself that incremental change and even little steps forward all build on each other. Big shifts don't happen overnight.
I'm relearning that carving out even 30 minutes a day for focused reading or learning isn't a luxury, it's compounding interest for my brain and the business.
It doesn't just happen though.
Nobody's going to make that time for you.
You have to actively protect it and make it happen, even when everything else is screaming for attention.
Still a work in progress for me, but to paraphrase the great words of the elite special forces unit, GI Joe, knowing it's a deliberate choice is half the battle.
