Last week I finally got a peek at two of our competitors when one of their customers showed me their products. One is backed by YC. The other by a16z.
One charges $100K a year the other was missing features we thought were table stakes. Their pitch was "we get it back to you in 48 hours, sometimes 24." When they find questions they can't answer, they send you a Google Doc you use to fill them in. They re-enter it into whatever questionnaire it came from.
We almost fell out of our chairs.
$100K a year. For a Google Doc workflow. In 2026.
Peter and I spent years as security practitioners filling these things out ourselves. We didn't look at this market from the outside, seeing a business opportunity. We looked at our own calendars and saw hours disappearing every time a customer sent over a questionnaire.
It's why we didn't build a better questionnaire answerer. There's no contractors reviewing your docs. No copy-paste workflows. No portals you have to babysit. It handles the entire process end to end, autonomously.
When you've lived the pain, you build differently than when you've studied the market.
I'm at RSA next week. If you're currently paying six figures for 48-hour turnaround times, let's talk.
I'll let you run TrustMind alongside your current vendor at zero cost. No billing until your existing contract ends and no commitment until then.
If it's not completely, obviously better, walk away with no obligation. If it is, I'll lock you in with founder pricing that'll make you look like a hero to your CFO.
